According to his high school coach Johnson is currently 6'8 and could even grow more. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong since I can't find it , but if I remember right he averaged about 15 & 10 while being all district on the hardwood. I think if Dodge lets him and he wants to he could actually add a few good minutes of beef in the paint if needed. His mom played at LSU so it's in his blood and I'm sure he wouldn't just be just another football guy playing basketball , he could actually help out.

Maybe I'm stretching here for a topic , but damnit I'm tired of all this conference talk. I need somekind of basketball fix. I'm sure a certain coach thinks I'm a stalker because everytime I see him on the phone I try to get near him So let's discuss something !!

Yeah, I feel ya with that man....I recently wrote up Part 2 of my recaps for the same reason. Scrappy will probably post it here soon. The conference re-alignment stuff is kinf of a beating - but nearly every messageboard I read is discussing it. Even messageboards that don't have sports as their main focus!!

The problem with Johnson moving to the basketball team for me would be football season runs into basketball by around a month give or take. That puts the crossovers pretty far behind, and they're probably not up to speed until Mid January. Maybe it's worth a shot tho, something to shoot around here I suppose

Historically, our football season is effectively over before Halloween.

May not be an issue.

Hell, our season is effectively over before October sometimes.

But it's not like Dodge would just give up the kid - even if we were sucking it up. Most two sport combos that I can recall, the player stays with the first until end of play - no matter how lousy the team is doing.

Say Johnson redshirts in football. Could he play hoops and not affect his eligibility? (in other words stay a freshman who is redshirting). I presume so....since he's not on a BB scholly.
