NT is not likely to redshirt anybody. It is rare for a player to be redshirted in BB, exception is the "big" like Knox who are often given another year to physically mature.
If you look at NT's signings assuming that NT gets Carmouche, they are replacing Thomas, Magrum and Tramiel; two wings and a post. Carmouche and McGhee should be big upgrades over the two departing wings. If NT can get even average play out of the 4 position, the team should be the best of JJ's teams. I think there will be a real fight for the second wing position, with five players who could end up there:
Shorter - Returning starter, tough rebounder and very strong player, limited offensively; but can drive to the basket. Generally defended best opponent guard.
Williams - Quick and used as shut-down defender late in the season. Can drive to the basket and although he had a tough year with his outside shooting, I think he will develop into an offensive threat.
Johnson - Will be used at point but will also see a lot of time at the wing. Quickest player on the team, good outside shooter. Can be liability on defense if taller players can take him inside.
McGhee - Tall freshman wing, that appears to have a good offensive game. Will have to adapt to college ball but has size and apparently speed to be a star player.
Carmouche = Proven Belt player, tough defender and good rebounder for size. Any of the other players are going to have to be very good to keep him from starting.
