NBA Playoffs - Mavs 2 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 4
I don't really care about any series that the Mavs don't play in as the NBA has become a perversion of the game of basketball, but I do have to say that I am really proud of the Mavs for beating SA. The Mavs are peaking at the right time which is what all teams in all sports try to do and have to do to do well in the playoffs. It is what SA has done for the past decade, it seems, and they have several banners to show for it. Now I don't think the Mavs are going to go all the way, but I think they can take it to Denver if they continue playing how they are. At this point I am just happy to see the Mavs play good basketball as I think 2006 was the only chance we had of winning the championship. But I think that we have taken for granted just how good the Mavs have been in the oh-ohs. I remember going to see them play when they were the worst team in the league and just want them to keep playing well for as long as they can. The band wagon fans that only started paying attention when the Mavs started winning don't realize this and appreciate the teams continued excellence over the past decade or so. And on a slight side note, Dirk Nowitzki may be the most underrated superstar in league history. He gets absolutely no respect for reasons I can't understand, such as him being white, foreign and not winning a championship. But take out KG's championship that the league handed down thanks to the absurdly lopsided trade the Celtics made to get him and his and Dirk's careers are eerily similar. But people consider him an all time great yet give Dirk no respect at all. Anyway, my advice is to enjoy the remaining time this team has on an upper tier as well as seeing Dirk still in his prime. If they can catch lightening in a bottle and keep playing they way they are and make a run, even better.

Dirk probably had more talent around him than KG for most of his years in Minnesota. Also, until recently I always felt KG was underrated.

That's neither here nor there tho.

I think that was a great series win for the Mavericks. They were dead and buried with about 6 weeks to go in the season. Even Cuban was calling them out in the press.

I've started appreciating the NBA more the last 2-3 seasons. I really fell away from caring about it in the late 90's/early 00's. Basically I only tuned in to root against the Lakers for acouple of those playoff runs.

The Bulls/Celtics series has been amazing from what I've heard but I haven't seen any of the games because, again, I can't really watch the NBA anymore. But it seems like Rajon Rondo is quickly becoming one of the dirtiest players in the league. But he plays for the Celtics so this is okay. Geez, I hate the NBA. Cuban for commish!

The Bulls/Celtics sereies has been epic. Maybe the best series I've ever seen - even if it just Round 1.
