Bigtime UALR poster MichaelsPappy always does his Belt predictions in the mid summer doldrums (and as such he's the first to do so). His track record is typically alright I suppose. And at least it's something to discuss.

He started with the East and nabbed USA to win the division. He has predicted us to win the West (well not officially but he's picked 2-6 and we weren't listed- our writeup should be soon).

So there it is - the first breakdown of the league.

Middle could be worse, FIU could challenge for the title if Isiah has any capacity to lead the talent he's assembled... FAU is (to me) the far and away favorite to win the East. Greatest threat to our chance at a repeat. Even more dangerous than ASU.

And this is coming from a guy who has a pretty meaty man-boner for Ronnie Arrow and what he does fundamentally with every roster he gets. I think USA can bump out Western if things go their way, but I think both teams are a notch below FAU.

I think the East ends up with Tasty's order. The Owls should be the class of the East. They were very close last year IMHO, and were even younger than ASU I believe.

The West I see breaking down like:

I do see the Cajuns quickly moving back up after a year in the new system and I wouldn't be surprised it going into the following year it's ULL and ASU - especially if JJ moves on after another NCAA trip.

I think Denver falls off this year without Rohnert. I know it's a system based approach out there, but a guy like that made the system work up to 19 wins. Losing him is going to cost them at least 2 games, and that drops them down below .500 in the league. Even with him, the only SBC team they beat on the road was New Orleans. If they couldn't get over the home/away hump with Rohnert, they aren't going to do it behind Chase and Shut-Up-Travis Hallam. Stafford is good, but he's not Rohnert.

I think it's a big drop from down between ASU and the rest of the West.

You guys are silly , there is NO WAY FAU takes the East. I see them 3rd at best.... we need a little friendly wager
