I wish they would get there stories straight. In the off-season we can't recruit , but during the regular season we have great talent but can't coach. Which is it? All of the above is not an acceptable answer.
Last season all I heard was how great MTSU and how they would be walking away with the title if it had not been for injuries. It would be amazing how much smarter our coaches would be if Dom, Eric and Thomas were available.
The three games against non-D1 teams is a non issue. Look at the other Sun Belt schedules. They all do the same except Denver. Look at previous NT schedules. With the exception of a few years in the Southland when the league mandated D-1 games only, NT has always scheduled about 3 Non-D1's a year. Blakely's first 20-win team was against a very tough schedule. After that, he couldn't schedule any one at home except non-D-1's.

I've gotten so annoyed with it that I've pretty much stopped posting completely during this frustrating stretch of bad luck and tough games.
I think we've got too many people, not just in our fan base but in all of sports, who follow sports to be miserable instead of enjoying the games.
A lot of folks have insane, unrealistic expectations that almost no non Major 7 basketball conference could possibly meet. Instead of enjoying the greatest run of success this school's team has seen in almost 100 years, they have to bitch and complain about how this almost unprecedented period of sustained success isn't up to their lofty standards. We ought to be beating teams that refuse to schedule us! We ought to be winning on the road against teams that have only lost at their arena once or twice in the past decade!
This season looks like it's going to be an injury-riddled letdown. We might ONLY win 18 games in the regular season. As frustrating as it is that we won't have a path to the postseason as easy as it originally seemed we would... This is still probably going to have been a pretty good season once it's all over with.
There are legitimate things to be frustrated over, and justifiable complaints about how the team is being managed. But, in the grand scheme of things, they're pretty minor compared to what most schools are dealing with. My big worry is that the magic runs out after next year's mass graduation.
Hopefully it doesn't take another 85 years for us to get back to this level again.

Good stuff guys.
This season is on the razors edge right now, but the way some folks seem to almost take glee in our losses is rather sad. I really want to win on Thursday just to shut some of them up for a day or two.
That is kinda pathetic isn't it? I'm more looking forward to them STFU than actually enjoying a win.

If you liked that, you'll love what I was keeping in reserve for the first time someone mentioned "Gonzaga".
Thanks.

Its gonna prove pointless. What is craziest is that I think UNT90 even played basketball here (or at least he's not-so-subtly made insinuations) yet I he's right up there with the others who only fly by the hoops forum when times are down to say JJ needs to go.
